Let's talk about hiring people. There is a phenomenon that occurs when people who do not share the same ideals and ideologies work together. This phenomenon is called Strangers at a Cocktail Party .
The phenomenon goes like this. Attending a cocktail party where everyone is a stranger is usually not a good time. You end up talking about the weather and sports and it seems like a boring chore. If you contrast that with a small get together with friends, that is a totally different story. It's a great time. You challenge and debate with your friends because you share ideals and you have a close relationship. You go out of your way to hang out with friends.
If you don't hire people based on your culture and your ideals, you end up with a team that is vaugly familiar to a cocktail party full of strangers. No one has things in common. The team dynamic is lacking and the productivity suffers from the same.
Hiring people based on your ideals is more important then hiring people based on their skills.
